Operation Christmas Eve 2009 Is Underway!
The time is now! It is approximately 11pm NPT on December 23rd and I have just officially announced the initiation of Operation Christmas Eve 2009. The entire North Pole Inc. operation is mobilized and the final preparations leading up to my launch - approximately 1 hour from now - are underway. We will be going full speed for the next 26 to 27 hours (including the hour prior to launch and the 2 to 3 hours it takes to wind down the operation upon return).
We have all been going full speed almost all day. I say almost because: 1) for the first time in years I actually took a power nap. I slept for 2 hours this evening, waking just in time to shower and declare the start of the operation. 2) The reindeer took a 4 hour nap earlier. They are awake now and are eating their traditional carbo-loading meal of oats. 3) Mrs. Claus and I actually took time out to have dinner together this evening, as is our tradition. Otherwise, it has been virtually non-stop with most everyone running on just an hour of two of sleep last night.
Ok... its time to get going and get suited up in my brand-new Santa apparel. Look for my updates here, via Twitter.com, and at www.noradsanta.org throughout the next 27 hours or so.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!
